Job Title: Senior Technical Trainer (Telecom / Data Center)
Location: Columbus, OH
(100% Onsite - Monday to Friday)
$30-$38/Hr

We are seeking a Senior Technical Trainer with strong telecom/data center experience to deliver high-volume, instructor-led training within a corporate university environment. This role is highly hands-on and requires spending 75% or more of the time delivering training through classroom sessions, labs, and practical exercises.

As a senior team member, you will act as a mentor and role model, supporting Associate Trainers while ensuring high-quality training delivery aligned with next-generation infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instructor-led technical training (classroom, labs, hands-on exercises)


• Facilitate employee onboarding and structured training programs


• Provide remediation and support to ensure successful learning outcomes


• Collaborate with trainers, SMEs, managers, and stakeholders


• Track, analyze, and report training performance and outcomes


• Review, test, and enhance training materials


• Set up and maintain training labs, classrooms, and equipment


• Coordinate training schedules, enrollment, and logistics


• Assess training needs through feedback, surveys, and interviews


• Support development of new training content and programs


• Coach, mentor, and develop Associate Trainers


• Stay current with data center technologies and industry best practices


• Travel as required

Required Qualifications:

• 6-9 years of hands-on industry experience in:
  
  
  
  • Telecom / Data Centers / Structured Cabling / Fiber Installation
  
  
  
  


• Strong experience in structured cabling and fiber optics installation


• Proven ability to train, mentor, or lead teams (formal or informal)


• Excellent communication and presentation skills


• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities


• Proficiency in MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


• Strong organizational and time management skills


• Professional demeanor and ability to engage diverse audiences

Qualifications

• Certifications such as BICSI (RCDD or similar)


• Experience in data center operations, rack & stack, and infrastructure deployment


• Prior experience delivering technical training in classroom environments

Work Environment

• 100% onsite role in a training facility


• Standard schedule: ~7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday-Friday)


• Classroom setting with ~24-30 learners (2 instructors per class)


• Hands-on, active role involving lab setup and technical demonstrations
