Overview The organization is seeking a
Senior Cloud Data Engineer to support a large-scale
Data Modernization Initiative. This role involves designing and developing cloud-based data solutions, migrating legacy systems to modern platforms, and supporting enterprise-wide data analytics capabilities. The engineer will collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient cloud data architecture.
Responsibilities - Design and develop cloud-based data management and integration systems.
- Build and implement data pipelines with both centralized and decentralized (Data Mesh) architectures.
- Ensure compliance with data security, governance standards, and privacy controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect highly scalable and performant cloud data solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud tools and services for data ingestion, storage, and processing.
- Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud data solutions for performance and reliability.
- Document cloud engineering strategies, designs, and best practices.
- Establish processes for system performance assessments and improvement.
- Lead design sessions, set development standards, and ensure timely delivery of quality data solutions.
- Integrate and build solutions using Informatica IICS, Snowflake, SQL, and Python.
- Manage end-to-end data pipelines and ETL workflows.
- Work with sensitive data while adhering to HIPAA or similar data-privacy regulations.
Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years in data pipeline design, cloud data architecture, data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL.
- Practical experience with decentralized data architectures (e.g., Data Mesh).
- 3-5 years building cloud data solutions (AWS preferred).
- 5+ years experience with cloud database platforms (Snowflake).
- Strong SQL, Python, Informatica IICS, GitHub (CI/CD), and Airflow skills.
- Proficiency with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience working with large-scale (multi-terabyte) enterprise cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of system administration, database administration, storage, networking, backup & recovery.
- Experience handling sensitive healthcare data and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications - AWS or Cloud Data Engineer Certification
- Snowflake certification
- Experience with Informatica IICS and Airflow orchestration
- Experience with Cognos or Tableau reporting tools
