Genesis10 is currently seeking a Power BI SQL Admin for a hybrid (3 days onsite) position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC and Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is part of an Enterprise BI Technology team and will support an SSRS to Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) migration initiative and ongoing platform growth. The position will focus on supporting the PBIRS environment, managing the underlying SQL Server databases, and assisting with platform scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL Server administration and report server operations and be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, production support environment.
Responsibilities: - Support the SSRS to Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) migration initiative and ongoing platform growth
- Support the PBIRS environment and manage underlying SQL Server databases
- Assist with platform scalability as additional nodes and users are onboarded
- Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server performance
- Manage SQL Server Agent, jobs, and scheduling
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 6+ years of SQL Server administration experience
- Hands-on experience supporting SSRS and/or Power BI Report Server
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server Agent, jobs, and scheduling
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting SQL Server performance
- Proficiency with T-SQL for querying and diagnostics
- Understanding of Windows Server services and permissions
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Desired skills: - Experience supporting Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) in a scale out or high usage environment
- Working knowledge of SSRS to PBIRS migration patterns
- Familiarity with monitoring tools for SQL Server and reporting workloads
- Experience supporting enterprise BI platforms in a regulated or large scale environment
- Exposure to Power BI Service or cloud BI platforms
- Ability to document operational processes and troubleshooting steps
- Experience working in Agile or ITIL based support models
