Experimental Technician

A globally leading consumer device company headquartered in Cupertino, CA is looking for Experimental Technician to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up test specimens and fixtures according to test protocols.
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment (e.g., Universal Testing Machine, thermal chambers, microscopes).
• Perform mechanical, and thermal tests following standard operating procedures.
• Accurately record, organize, and report test data in logs and databases.
• Assist engineers in developing and refining test methods.
• Perform routine equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
• Ensure lab safety practices and compliance with EHS policies.
• Support inventory management of lab supplies, tools, and materials.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree, technical diploma or bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• Hands-on experience with test instrumentation (Instron, MTS, Shimadzu, or similar) is an asset.
• Basic understanding of measurement tools (force/temperature sensors and microscope).
• Familiarity with data acquisition software (Excel, MATLAB, LabVIEW or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ASTM/ISO testing standards.
• 1 3 year experience in a laboratory or testing environment.
• Basic CAD or test fixture design knowledge.

Type: Contract

Duration: 11 months with extension

Work Location: Cupertino, CA (100% onsite)

Pay range: $ 37.00 - $ 52.00 (DOE)
