Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior SIP / VoIP Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure real-time communication solutions for medical device and healthcare technology products. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Kamailio, SIP, VoIP, and FreeSWITCH and a proven track record working in FDA-regulated, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in SIP/VoIP technologies
- Strong hands-on experience with Kamailio SIP Server
- Expertise in SIP Protocol, SIP Routing, SIP Authentication, and SIP Trunking
- Experience with FreeSWITCH deployment and integration
- Development experience using Node.js and/or TypeScript
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in VoIP environments
- Experience with RTP/media handling
- Knowledge of VoIP monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, sngrep, and SIPp
- Experience implementing secure communication solutions and VoIP security best practices
- Background working in Medical Devices, Healthcare Technology, FDA-regulated, HIPAA-compliant, or other regulated industries
- Experience creating technical documentation and design specifications
- Strong software development, testing, and code quality practices

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SIP/VoIP communication systems for medical and healthcare products.
- Configure and support Kamailio SIP infrastructure and FreeSWITCH platforms.
- Develop secure, scalable, and reliable communication services using Node.js/TypeScript.
- Troubleshoot SIP signaling, call routing, authentication issues, and media flow problems.
- Perform root cause analysis using tools such as Wireshark, sngrep, and SIPp.
- Support regulatory and compliance requirements for healthcare and medical device products.
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, cybersecurity, and product teams to deliver compliant communication solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment procedures.
Ideal Candidate
A strong candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Kamailio + FreeSWITCH integration, SIP routing and security, VoIP troubleshooting, and software development, preferably within Medical Device, Healthcare, MedTech, HIPAA, or FDA-regulated environments. Candidates with only generic VoIP experience and no Kamailio expertise will not be considered strong matches.
