Position Description:

The Workday Expense UAT Consultant will lead and execute all User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for a Workday Expense module implementation. This role is responsible for developing comprehensive test strategies and scripts, validating end-to-end employee reimbursement processes, ensuring accurate Check and EFT/ACH settlement workflows, testing role-based security and approval hierarchies, and coordinating defect resolution with implementation teams. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to facilitate testing cycles, track and remediate configuration issues, and provide formal readiness recommendations for production deployment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive Workday Financials and Expense module expertise, strong UAT leadership experience, and a proven track record supporting successful Workday Expense implementations within complex enterprise environments.

Role and Responsibilities:

·         Design, write, and execute comprehensive end-to-end UAT test cases that mimic exact county business scenarios within the Expense Report Event business process.

·         Validate downstream settlement workflows specifically configured for internal employee reimbursements via Check and EFT (ACH) processing channels. Ensure proper general ledger impacts, accurate bank file layout formatting, and successful transactional routing.

·         Audit and test Workday Security Groups (e.g., Employee, Manager, Cost Center Manager, Expense Auditor) to verify data access boundaries and strict compliance with financial routing controls.

·         Document, log, and track configuration bugs within Workday Sandbox/Preview tenants. Work directly with the technical implementation team to isolate, resolve, and re-test routing failures or ledger posting errors.

·         Facilitate structured testing cycles with designated County stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs), guiding them through the execution and official sign-off of assigned test scripts.

·         Shall perform continuous risk identification and maintain a dynamic UAT Defect Log. Defects must be briefed during weekly status meetings and categorized by severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low). Each entry must include a functional description, business process step impact, assigned owner, and remediation progress.

·         Establish and execute an end-to-end UAT strategy tailored strictly to Workday Expense reports.

·         Validate that employee reimbursement workflows, ledger posting impacts, and bank file generation for Checks and EFT function flawlessly.

·         Verify that role-based security routing and multi-level approval hierarchies match the County''s organizational structure.

·         Identify, track, and coordinate the remediation of configuration defects before final production launch.

Required Skills:

·         A minimum of five (5) years of direct experience performing functional testing, configuration validation, or implementation support within the Workday Financial Management ecosystem.

·         Proven track record of successfully leading UAT cycles for at least two (2) distinct Workday Expense module deployments or significant optimization projects.

·         Demonstrated mastery of Workday business processes (specifically the Expense Report Event), role-based security configurations, and internal employee settlement systems (Checks and EFT processing).
