Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe organization is seeking a mid-level AI Cyber Defense Engineer (Contractor) to support the Cyber Threat Interdiction team in developing and executing AI-driven experiments using AWS Bedrock. This role involves collaborating with engineering partners and a cross-functional interdiction team to design secure, cost-efficient AI workflows and prototype solutions that enhance the bank's cyber defense capabilities.
The position is suited for individuals with hands-on AWS Bedrock experience, a strong foundation in data engineering or data science, and an interest in applying AI technologies to cybersecurity challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the design, development, and testing of AI experiments using AWS Bedrock and external lab environments, including model selection, prompt strategies, and workflow orchestration.
- Develop AI- and MCP-related code following secure development practices to reduce risks associated with model context sharing and tool invocation.
- Implement and maintain human-in-the-loop processes to ensure appropriate oversight of AI and agent-based workflows.
- Support data preparation, pipeline development, and cost-monitoring activities to ensure experiments operate within defined usage budgets.
- Apply cybersecurity knowledge to help shape experiments that contribute to threat detection, interdiction, and operational security objectives.
- Document experiment configurations, test results, identified risks, and recommended next steps.
- Contribute to reusable templates, runbooks, and guardrails that support safe and scalable AI experimentation.
Required Skills- 2-5 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data engineering, or software engineering.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, including model provisioning, API integration, prompt configuration, and model evaluation.
- Proficiency in Python, including experience interacting with AI/LLM APIs and developing small-scale automation or orchestration components.
- Understanding of secure AI development practices, including safe prompt design and data-minimization principles.
- Experience implementing workflows that incorporate human-in-the-loop validation or approval mechanisms.
- Exposure to cybersecurity concepts such as detection engineering, incident response, threat intelligence, or security operations.
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, Step Functions, or DynamoDB.
Nice-to-Have Skills- Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, or embedding-based retrieval.
- Familiarity with model safety evaluations or responsible AI frameworks.
- Prior experience developing prototypes or proof-of-concept AI tools.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and adversarial AI risks.
