Title: Process Engineer II - 2 Openings
Location: Tolleson, AZ
Duration: 6 Months with potential to extend
 
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
 
Work Environment and Schedule
This role is primarily manufacturing-floor based and may require occasional off-shift or extended-hour support to meet operational or project needs.  Considerable time will be spent walking and standing on the production floor.
 
Only W2 candidates are eligible for this position. Third-party or C2C candidates will not be considered.
 
Job Description:
 
Scope of Position
The Process Engineer will provide hands-on support in a manufacturing environment to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement practical corrective actions that improve safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on engineering support on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot equipment, product, process, and operational issues.
  • Analyze data, observations, and process conditions to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend, implement, and verify corrective actions to improve quality, uptime, throughput, and process stability.
  • Support equipment start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, qualification, and process optimization.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues and sustain improvements.
  • Maintain procedures, standard work, technical documentation, and clear communication of findings and recommendations.

Top skills/requirements: Bachelors is required, plus 2 years professional (not academic) Process Engineer experience in a manufacturing plant.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM field required.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or plant environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with plant procedures.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or other continuous improvement methods.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems, process controls, data analysis tools, and production performance metrics.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor engaging with operators and observing processes.
Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM field
 
Interview and Selection Process
  • Initial phone or video screening.
  • Panel interview with project and team members.
  • Local candidates preferred, but non-local candidates willing to relocate on their own may be considered if local candidates are not available.
  • Local candidates may be asked to come on site before final selection.
