Summary

We are seeking a Test Engineer to support software validation and integrated systems testing for advanced vehicle technologies. This role focuses on validating embedded software and vehicle systems to ensure they meet functional, quality, performance, and user experience requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience with software testing, Python scripting, API integration, root cause analysis, and Agile development environments.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside cross-functional engineering teams, supporting both manual and automated testing efforts while contributing to the delivery of reliable, high-quality vehicle software capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute functional test scenarios based on Agile user stories and sprint requirements.
  • Validate vehicle software, integrated systems, and customer-facing features against defined requirements.
  • Perform manual and automated testing activities and document all test results.
  • Analyze test failures, investigate defects, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with software developers and feature engineers to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.
  • Prepare and maintain test benches, testing environments, vehicles, and supporting tools.
  • Create and maintain Python scripts for data collection, analysis, reporting, and validation activities.
  • Integrate and consume data from approved APIs, databases, and internal systems.
  • Develop simple internal tools and dashboards to support testing and operational decision-making.
  • Log defects and testing results within JIRA and other test management tools.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and testing reviews.
  • Analyze software failures and validate corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on testing processes, automation, and efficiency.
  • Provide detailed test evidence, bug reports, and quality documentation.
  • Assist with laboratory hardware maintenance and validation environment readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software testing, systems testing, or validation engineering.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
  • Strong Python programming and scripting experience.
  • Experience working with APIs and data integration.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and defect investigation methodologies.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Proficiency with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and automated validation solutions.
  • Proficiency with Python libraries such as Pandas for data analysis.
  • Experience building automated scripts to reduce manual reporting and improve operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database querying.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and dashboard platforms.
  • Familiarity with vehicle testing, infotainment systems, fleet operations, or automotive software validation.
  • Experience interpreting logs, telemetry data, and software diagnostics.
  • Technical documentation and process improvement experience.
