Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship in Structural Heart Disease
Our organization is pleased to announce a one-year, non-ACGME Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship focused on Structural Heart Disease. This opportunity is available for candidates who will complete their Interventional Cardiology training by June 2027.
As part of a large health system, which ranks as the 8th largest in the United States, our program includes six structural heart initiatives across the network. This high-volume, multidisciplinary fellowship offers extensive, hands-on training designed to equip fellows with essential skills for managing, planning, and executing structural heart interventions throughout a patient's care journey.
Training Overview
The fellowship encompasses a variety of transcatheter therapies, including but not limited to:
- TAVR
- M-TEER/T-TEER
- TMVR
- TTVR
- Paravalvular leak closure
- PFO/ASD closure
- Left atrial appendage occlusion
- Electrosurgery
- Catheter-directed thrombectomy
- Mechanical support
- Hybrid surgical procedures
Our collaboration with industry partners allows fellows to engage in pivotal IDE and EFS studies within the structural heart domain, positioning our program at the cutting edge of innovation and next-generation device development. Training also includes advanced echocardiography and CT imaging techniques for managing complex structural heart cases.
The fellowship is integrated with Cardiothoracic Surgery, promoting teamwork in a high-volume, minimally invasive robotic cardiac surgical environment. Fellows will have ample opportunities for clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly activities, supported by dedicated mentorship and protected time.
Eligibility Criteria
This fellowship is open to applicants who are board-certified or board-eligible in both adult cardiology and interventional cardiology.

Established in 1857, our facility is a 450-bed acute care hospital located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. We are among the few institutions nationwide with a dedicated Division of Structural Heart Disease within the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, facilitating seamless collaboration. Our faculty comprises:
- 2 full-time and 2 part-time Structural Heart Interventional Cardiologists
- 1 dedicated Structural Cardiac Surgeon (part of a total of 5 Cardiac Surgeons, including 1 minimally-invasive Cardiac Surgical Fellow)
- 2 Interventional Echocardiographers
All faculty members are committed to providing intensive mentorship, skill enhancement, and career development for fellows.

Compensation
The compensation for full-time clinical training at our organization ranges from $70,000 to $100,000. This range is influenced by various factors, including physician specialty, experience level, quality of care, academic achievements, patient satisfaction, and productivity. The stated compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential base pay at the time of this announcement and may be subject to change in the future.
