Job Summary

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer – Java / Google Cloud Platform to design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable backend applications, APIs, and cloud-based services.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Candidates with production experience in Google Cloud Platform Cloud Run, DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud security, IAM, and GitHub Actions are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend applications and REST APIs.

• Develop scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.

• Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Google Cloud Platform.

• Deploy and manage applications using Google Cloud Platform Cloud Run.

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, frontend developers, and cross-functional teams.

• Develop secure, reliable, and highly available applications.

• Participate in application design, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

• Implement CI/CD and DevSecOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Monitor application health, performance, resiliency, and reliability.

• Work with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB.

• Implement application security practices, including encryption, data protection, and Zero Trust principles.

• Improve development, testing, deployment, and operational processes.

• Support production applications and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and technical best practices.

• Use AI responsibly to improve products and engineering productivity.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of IT experience

• 3+ years of software development experience

• Strong hands-on Java development experience.

• Strong experience with Spring Boot.

• Experience developing REST APIs and backend applications.

• Experience with microservices architecture.

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform Cloud Run.

• Experience with JUnit and application testing.

• Experience with software/application design and development.

• Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB.

• Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.

• Understanding of application security and Zero Trust concepts.

• Full-stack application development experience.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
