Summary

Position Summary

Acuren is currently recruiting for an Engineer II at our Leander, TX location.

This Engineer II position will perform stress analysis, direct field inspections, and conduct fitness for service assessments on industrial fixed equipment. They will work with the Acuren Engineering team based out of Leander, Texas and travel to industrial facilities as needed to gather equipment data and coordinate/direct equipment inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent communication lines with team, internal clients, and external clients
  • Develop procedures and training curriculums for engineering processes
  • Perform solid mechanics calculations for fixed equipment to determine if equipment meets code requirements
  • Develop inspection scopes and review NDE results in support of performing fitness for service assessments
  • Direct inspection scopes and manage inspection crews in the field
  • Perform calculations and CAD work to support repairs and alterations to pressure equipment
  • Prepare engineering reports documenting the approach, methods used, results, and recommendations

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Working knowledge of solid mechanics
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar CAD software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in teaching/learning methods

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Successfully passed FE or PE exams through NCEES
  • Engineering lifecycle/design experience preferred

Working Conditions

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with limited physical effort, continuous mental effort, and frequent complex requests for assistance in and out of a lab environment.
  • 5% to 15% travel required.

Physical Job Requirements & Demands:
  • Endurance such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing, or driving, and frequency/duration in which action is required.
