Overview
We’re hiring a mid-level Software Engineer / End User Technology Specialist to support a long-term federal program in Washington, DC. In this role, you’ll contribute to software engineering efforts across the full SDLC—design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements—while collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.
This opportunity is onsite and moving quickly.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems.
- Apply engineering principles, standards, processes, and tools throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Perform software requirements analysis and assess hardware/software compatibility.
- Build and maintain software products and tools that support infrastructure and platform operations.
- Work independently to deliver day-to-day objectives that impact operational results and project deliverables.
- Own projects/processes within a technical area; coach and review work of junior technical staff as needed.
- Develop solutions to ambiguocomplex technical issues requiring deep analysis and domain expertise.
- Communicate effectively with project team members and influence solution design, approaches, and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) required.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience (or Master’s + 2–6 years).
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, concepts, and best practices.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and drive solutions in a structured, process-oriented environment.
- Comfortable working onsite in Washington, DC.
