Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced AWS RDS DBA / Cloud Database Operations
• Engineer to own the reliability, performance, security, and operational integrity of enterprise
• database platforms hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role will support mission-critical
• applications running on Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and will work closely with Cloud Engineering,
• DevOps, Data Engineering, Security, and Application Development teams.

Required Skill and Experience

The Client is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server/Oracle Database Administrator with a strong background in AWS Cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SQL Server and Oracle administration coupled with expertise in AWS services, particularly AWS RDS Oracle/Aurora/SQL Server and DMS. Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, and experience with serverless computing using AWS Lambda functions are essential for success in this role.

• Proven working experience as a SQL Server/Oracle Database Administrator, with at least 10 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server and Oracle. Candidates with knowledge or experience with AWS Cloud environments are preferred.
• Solid understanding of SQL Server/Oracle performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with database security principles and best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with agile methodologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of AWS services, particularly AWS RDS and related cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform for automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Knowledge of Python, Bash, Ansible, and PowerShell scripting for automation, orchestration, and integration tasks.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database - Specialty are a plus.
