Overview / Summary

Bring your senior-level infrastructure, network, and desktop support experience into a critical operations environment where reliability, responsiveness, and hands-on technical ownership matter every day. This role is ideal for a well-rounded infrastructure support engineer who is strongest in network and desktop support, while also being comfortable assisting across telecom, compute, storage, backup, Microsoft 365, and broader IT operations.

The Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer will support daily operations for a critical infrastructure environment, including network connectivity, desktop support, endpoint hardware, service requests, incident response, vendor coordination, monitoring, and documentation. This role serves as a hands-on technical resource for internal users and infrastructure operations, helping ensure systems, hardware, software, and network services remain reliable and stable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L3 desktop support for laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, and user-facing technical issues.
  • Provide L3 support for network and connectivity issues.
  • Support network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and proxy servers.
  • Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and connectivity issues.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Fulfill service requests including access provisioning, software installation, and technical support.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate with vendors supporting cabling, infrastructure, desktop, and network services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, support notes, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Escalate issues appropriately to specialized network, compute, security, telecom, storage, backup, or Microsoft 365 resources.
  • Participate in on-call support and critical incident response as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in desktop support, network support, systems support, or infrastructure operations.
  • Strong L3 desktop support experience.
  • Strong network troubleshooting experience.
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware, laptops, desktops, and printers.
  • Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting routers, switches, firewalls, and related network infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting users in a healthcare or critical operations environment preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond with urgency during technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Linux, or related certifications.
  • Experience with SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to VMware, Citrix, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, backup, storage, telecom, or Microsoft 365.
  • Experience working with local vendors and managed service providers.
  • HIPAA or healthcare IT support experience.
