What you will do?

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer ? Chillers Subject Matter Expert to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing our water-cooled chiller portfolio.

In this highly influential role, you will serve as a go-to technical authority, providing advanced support to Field Sales and Service teams while acting as the final escalation point for complex product challenges. You?ll ensure our customers and teams receive best-in-class technical guidance when it matters most.

Beyond support, you will be deeply embedded in new product development, bringing critical field and service perspectives into the design process. Your expertise will help ensure that products are delivered to the market fully optimized, reliable, and issue-free.

You?ll also lead the creation and release of service product literature, ensuring our teams have the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the field.

This is an onsite role based at our Advanced Engineering Development Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.

How you will do it

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for Field Sales & Service organization on a global basis via site visit, phoneor email.

  • Accountable to create and maintain technical service bulletins, service letters, and updates to the Solutions Database that meets and or exceeds internal and external customer expectations.

  • Drive product reliability through the Continuous Improvement Process for both existing products and new products being introduced.SMEprovidestechnical support and interacts with quality management and engineering to improve overall life cycle cost. TheSMEshould be able to create test plans to prove out new and or existing product equipment offerings.

  • Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment (e.g., people, processes, structure, or culture); adjusts effectively to change by exploring the benefits, tries new approaches, and collaborates with others to make the change successful.

  • Interacts with all Tier levels within PTS globally tosolve work problems and seize opportunities that result in unique and differentiated solutions; promotes the involvement co-workers in solving problems that directly impact what people do; leveraging technology to effectively address problems and capitalize on opportunities.

  • Places a high priority on the internal or external customer?s perspective when making decisions and acting; implementing service practices that meet the customers? and own organization?s needs.

  • Ensures others contribute to organization strategies and driving operational discipline, role clarity and performance transparency by focusing them on the most critical priorities, measures progress, and ensures accountability against those metrics to allow us to act like One Team; sets, documents, and communicates clear work standards to improve performance ? ?the fundamentals?; making our results widely available and easily accessible.

  • ?Identifies and understands problems and opportunities by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information; chooses the best course of action by establishing clear decision criteria, generates and evaluates alternatives, and making timely decisions; taking action that is consistent with available facts and constraints and optimizes probableconsequences.

What we look for?

Required

  • Up to15% must be able to travel both domestic andinternationally.

  • Bachelor?s degree in Engineeringor a related fieldexperience.

  • 7+ years of experience working with HVAC/R products.

  • Must be able to analyze and solve complex product system problems.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting the refrigeration cycle as applied to air-conditioning duty on Applied Equipment.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $160,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
