Senior Pega Developer / Lead System Architect (LSA) - 11+ Years Experience

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Pega Developer / Lead System Architect to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade applications on the Pega Platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise across Pega versions, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to mentor junior developers while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, reusable Pega applications following best practices and Pega's Guardrails
• Lead end-to-end implementation of case management solutions, including class structures, data models, UI/UX, and integrations
• Translate business requirements into technical design documents and application architecture
• Configure and optimize Decisioning, Case Management, and Process flows using Pega BPM/CRM frameworks
• Build and maintain integrations (REST/SOAP, connectors, services) with external systems
• Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to Pega best practices, and drive performance tuning
• Own application performance, PAL/Tracer-based debugging, and production issue resolution
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, and Product Owners in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Mentor junior/mid-level developers and guide teams on Pega architecture decisions
• Support CI/CD pipeline setup, DevOps deployment (Pega Deployment Manager), and environment management
• Participate in Pega upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 11+ years of total IT experience, with 8+ years dedicated to Pega development
• Strong hands-on experience with Pega PRPC/Pega Platform versions 7.x/8.x
• Pega certifications required: CSSA / LSA (Lead System Architect) — CLSA preferred
• Deep expertise in:
  • Case Management, Class Structures, Data Modeling
  • Decisioning (DSM), Business Rules, Flow Actions, SLAs, Activities
  • UI/UX design (Sections, Harnesses, Skins, Dynamic Layouts)
  • Integrations (REST, SOAP, Connectors, Services, File Listeners)
  • Security models, Access Groups, Roles, and Authentication
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with Pega DevOps tools (Deployment Manager, PegaUnit testing)
• Strong troubleshooting skills using Tracer, PAL, Clipboard, and Log Analyzer
• Excellent communication skills with experience interfacing directly with clients/stakeholders
• Experience leading small-to-mid sized development teams

Preferred/Good to Have

• Experience with Pega Customer Service, Pega Sales Automation, or Pega Marketing frameworks
• Exposure to Robotics (RPA), Pega Cloud, and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of Java, SQL, and enterprise integration patterns
• Domain experience in Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or Telecom (customize per role)
