Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Integration / Interoperability Solution Architect to design, implement, and support scalable healthcare integration solutions. This role focuses on building and governing interoperability architectures that enable seamless data exchange across healthcare platforms, clients, and partners.

The architect will contribute to the evolution of enterprise interoperability platforms, including EHR integrations, payer-to-payer connectivity, and modern API-driven ecosystems. The ideal candidate combines strong healthcare domain expertise with hands-on integration development and solution architecture experience.

Key Responsibilities

·       Solution Architecture & Design

·       Lead the design and architecture of healthcare interoperability and integration solutions

·       Translate business and technical requirements into scalable architecture designs

·       Define architectural patterns, integration approaches, and technical standards

·       Create and maintain:

·       Solution architecture diagrams

·       Data flow and system integration diagrams

·       Technical and interface documentation

·       Healthcare Interoperability & Integration

·       Design and implement integrations using:

·       HL7, FHIR, X12, CCDA, and EDI standards

·       Develop and support FHIR interfaces and RESTful APIs

·       Support payer-to-payer integrations and utilization management workflows

Work with X12 transactions, especially:

278 – Utilization Management

834 – Enrolment

·       Configure and support integrations using Mirth Connect / NextGen Mirth Connect

·       Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

·       Act as liaison between clients, product teams, engineers, and business stakeholders

·       Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and solution reviews

·       Provide architectural guidance to engineers, analysts, and QA teams

·       Collaborate with external partners on interface design and interoperability requirements

·       Production Support & Governance

·       Provide architectural oversight for production integrations

·       Troubleshoot complex interoperability and interface issues

·       Monitor integration performance and recommend improvements

·       Identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities across workflows

·       AI & Modern Technology Enablement

·       Leverage AI-enabled tools and modern technologies to enhance integration workflows

·       Work with GenAI/OpenAI platforms where applicable

·       Support cloud-based integrations within Azure environments

Required Skills & Experience

·       Healthcare Integration

·       Strong expertise in HL7, FHIR, X12, CCDA, EDI

·       Experience with healthcare interoperability solutions

·       Knowledge of utilization management workflows

·       Payer or provider integration experience

·       Technical Skills

·       RESTful APIs, JSON, and Web Services (SOAP preferred)

·       Strong SQL proficiency

·       Experience with IDEs and integration tools

·       Production support experience for integration platforms

·       Architecture & Solutioning

·       2–5 years of solution architecture or integration solutioning experience

·       Ability to design end-to-end integration solutions

·       Experience documenting functional and technical architectures

·       Strong understanding of SDLC and architectural governance

·       Platforms & Tools

·       Mirth Connect / NextGen Mirth Connect (preferred)

·       Azure cloud exposure

·       Integration engines and interoperability frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

·       Healthcare payer or managed care experience

·       Experience integrating EHR platforms

·       Knowledge of HIE and healthcare data exchange ecosystems

·       Experience working in Agile environments

·       Exposure to AI / GenAI technologies
