AI & Automation Solutions Engineer

ForwardIT is seeking an experienced AI & Automation Solutions Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and deploy AI-powered business solutions for commercial clients.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building production-ready AI agents, automating business workflows, and integrating AI solutions with existing business applications.

We are specifically seeking a builder with real-world implementation experience, not someone whose experience is limited to using AI tools or creating basic demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI agents and automated workflows.

• Build AI-powered voice agents, SMS agents, chatbots, and customer service automation solutions.

• Develop automation solutions for lead qualification, appointment scheduling, customer communications, and business operations.

• Integrate AI solutions with CRM platforms, scheduling applications, databases, and third-party APIs.

• Evaluate client workflows and identify opportunities for automation.

• Develop scalable, reliable, and secure AI solutions.

• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize deployed solutions.

• Collaborate with sales and business development teams during technical discovery and solution demonstrations.

• Document technical architecture, integrations, deployment processes, and ongoing support requirements.

• Monitor and improve AI solution performance, accuracy, and reliability.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering, automation engineering, or related technical development experience.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and deploying AI-powered solutions.

• Experience building AI agents, including voice, SMS, or conversational agents.

• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.

• Experience integrating REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party business applications.

• Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or Microsoft Power Automate.

• Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and AI APIs.

• Understanding of prompt engineering, agent orchestration, and error handling.

• Ability to translate business requirements into working technical solutions.

• Experience testing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting production applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OpenAI APIs, Azure AI, Anthropic, or similar AI platforms.

• Experience with voice AI platforms such as Vapi, Retell AI, or ElevenLabs.

• Experience with Twilio or other voice and SMS communication APIs.

• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agent development frameworks.

• Experience with CRM integrations, including HubSpot, Salesforce, or GoHighLevel.

• Knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and data integrations.

• Familiarity with AI security, data privacy, and production monitoring.
