Staff System Engineer/Infrastructure Lead

This is a contract-to-hire position. No third party recruiters.

TOP NON-NEGOTIABLE SKILLS

1. 7+ years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or cloud infrastructure
2. Experience supporting digital products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing applications
3. Strong experience with: Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and associated networking services, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar), Automation and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)
4. Strong experience with: Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift), API gateways, service mesh, and modern service-to-service communication, Observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.)
5. Strong Linux experience. Knowledge of open source and purchased middleware products such as webservers, application servers, database servers, load balancers, single-sign-on software, identity management software, kafka, collaboration software, etc.

WHAT WOULD MAKE THIS HIRE STAND OUT

1. Candidates who have worked on and supported new SaaS products
2. Technical lead experience
3. Understanding zero trust, secure network design and Microsoft Entra ID/IAM/OIDC/SAML

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Focus is designing the network/cloud architecture supporting digital products, analyzing traffic and latency, establishing SLAs/SLOs, planning capacity and supporting disaster recovery.
2. Work across multiple engineering and technology teams.
