Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Hadoop/Spark Developer - Hybrid for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This role is for a senior developer with strong skills in Hadoop, Spark, Oracle SQL, and Linux. The position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite and participation in a support rotation.
Responsibilities: - Proactively manage and deliver on assigned development work
- Utilize Hadoop, Spark, Oracle SQL, and Linux for ETL processing
- Participate in an on-call support rotation
- Facilitate technical discussions and drive meetings with stakeholders
- Convey complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements: - Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, HDFS, HIVE, Starburst, Linux command-line, Oracle query writing and tuning
- Foundational technical understanding of ETL processing concepts (Oracle, Big Data, Starburst, Informatica)
- History of being part of an on-call support team
- Demonstrated ownership mindset with the ability to proactively manage and deliver on assigned work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in facilitating discussions, driving meetings, and capturing concise meeting notes
Desired skills: - Experience with Python, SAS, or Tableau
- Experience writing clear, testable, and business-focused Acceptance Criteria
- Recent experience as a member of an Agile team using Jira
Pay range: $48.85 - $56.85 per hour
