Senior Security Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in New York, NY.

Overview:
The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for the overall management of large enterprise network; This includes the planning, design, 24x7 management, and coordination of the corporate LAN/WAN. This position also manages network security and policies.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Senior Security Engineer will operate and maintain enterprise network
* Prepares, configures, and manages routers and switches for deployment to a local or a remote site
* Troubleshoots and remedies enterprise network problems
* Researches and recommends network optimization
* Designs and implements enterprise networks security solutions for client environments
* Performs network equipment software and configuration upgrades
* Trains security and/or network engineers on specific technologies
* Analyzes, designs, tests, documents, implements/configures and supports the Security and converged network technologies
* As a Senior Security Engineer, you will perform network architecture review and develop detailed engineering design and deployment plans
* Day-to-day monitoring of performance and tuning of the Firewall functionality
* Performs network architecture reviews and develop detailed engineering design and deployment plans
* On-call for escalated issues

REQUIREMENTS:
* Technical B.S. degree required and related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education, experience and certifications
* Cisco Certification - CISSP or CISM
* Experience with Firewall/IDS/IPS/Cisco PIX Firewall/Checkpoint Firewall/Juniper Firewall, Palo Alto Networks Firewall/Blue Coat Technology
* Experience in local and wide area of networking, communications, within a multi-platform network environment. Knowledge of: LAN/WAN; VLANs, VoIP, RIP, OSPF, AAA/TACACS, EIGRP, and Cisco ACLs
* Experience with routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP)
* Hands-on network & application troubleshooting experience
* Extensive knowledge of IP networking and applications running over networks
* Understanding of how Telecommunication Service Providers install, test, and troubleshoot circuits; Excellent computer skills including WIN2k and Unix
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, to include resources, priorities, and timelines

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
