Role: Cimplicity/Controls Engineer

Location: Onsite in Warren, MI

Duration: 12 Month Contract Can Be Extended

The Senior launch and deployment team member is responsible for architecting the delivery of cimplicity based applications used for Plant Floor Monitoring & Control at GM Manufacturing plants across the globe. The person needs to have strong business and technical acumen to understand complex manufacturing systems, evaluate, identify, recommend and implement the solutions that can best improve current applications implementations with COTS integrations to bring business benefits.

For this role you will expected to have demonstrated success in software project delivery experience in leading technical efforts developing/deploying applications using a variety of tools, languages, frameworks and technologies Aggressively engage in the identification / remediation of software issues related to code or solutions quality, security, and/or pattern/frameworks and software usability or end user related issues Integrate software with existing software/systems Automates unit/end-to-end testing of software systems within their domain, focused on software quality and maintainability Strong Knowledge of configuring, maintaining and debugging software systems. Dedicatedly engage in the remediation of software issues related to code/solutions quality and/or security Possess technical writing knowledge around system deployment specification and user documentation of software systems and ensure that technical documentation meets GM standards Understand and maintain compliance with GM standards and industry standard methodology Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors. Models GM behaviors and builds a winning culture.

Preferred Skill Set / Experience

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or Computer Science(required)

Experience in Industrial IT systems and exposure to manufacturing and shop floor systems (required)

5+ years delivering enterprise?grade software in manufacturing environments, including SCADA-driven plant floor monitoring/control solutions.

Hands-on expertise establishing and managing PLC communications via industrial protocols such as OPC UA and OPC DA, including standardized channel/device/tag models, throughput benchmarking, performance tuning, and high availability.

Experience with SQL Server (required)

A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design

Large systems software deployment and development experience

Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems

Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skill
