Since 2011, our mission hasn't changed - we're here to stop breaches, and we've redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We\'re proud to work for a mission-driven company leveraging AI to transform the way we work. CrowdStrikers drive their careers through flexibility and autonomy while also being expected to contribute to a culture of responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and innovation. We use an AI-first mindset as a force multiplier to proactively and continuously accelerate execution, build expertise, uncover insights, and solve complex problems. We're always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. The future of cybersecurity starts with you. Our mission is to make all of our customers' security-relevant data continuously available for automated detection and response, threat hunting, and other Falcon use cases. To enable this, the systems behind NG-SIEM are growing to accommodate 100 PB of event and action data ingested every day, up to 10 years of retention, and dozens of millions of queries per hour across large sections of the data stored. As a new Senior Engineer on the LogScale Search team you will be responsible for delivering this scale to customers by developing new features as well as improving existing functionality. Teams in LogScale have a great amount of autonomy, and own a part of the LogScale experience, from ideation and development to deployment and feedback. This includes ensuring high quality of the features they deliver, by writing automated tests, and performing manual tests. Moreover, we do not just throw over features to our operations teams, but we constantly observe and monitor new features in production, with LogScale dashboards of course. An important part of our work is making sure that LogScale continues to be scalable in terms of efficiently ingesting and digesting events, querying for the right data, while also ensuring the stability of the clusters. This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations. Lead by example on customer and product focus, as well as on hands-on operational excellence by monitoring and following up on features released to customers and troubleshooting critical customer issues. Deliver cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects by owning or participating in scoping, designing and developing of new features to open-ended problems Develop the LogScale backend in Scala and extending our product to keep LogScale scale with increasing ingest and query load while ensuring high availability Collaborate with your peers across teams on defining and delivering new solutions, design documents, technical talks and improving our internal documentation We are a remote first company so you must bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills to bear when you are working with teams across the globe Citizen or US Permanent Resident. A passion for or personal interest in distributed systems and curiosity of how our running systems are doing Experience in software development in general and the ability to juggle making pragmatic tradeoffs between short-time delivery needs vs long-term product goals Fluency in both functional and object oriented programming and the ability to pick up new languages on the go Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes. Bonus Points Experience programming in Scala Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) Hands on experience in large-scale (distributed) system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization - over 1 trillion requests per day or more than 10 PB of data per day Exposure to or experience with Log Management or cybersecurity products #This role will require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint check(s) consistent with government customer requirements.
