Title: Network Infrastructure Technician GAO Move Support (Contract)

Overview::
We are seeking two Network Infrastructure Technicians to support a large-scale office and data center network relocation. These technicians will assist network engineers with safely moving, installing, racking, and cabling network equipment and ensuring LAN connectivity is restored correctly.
This role requires careful handling of production equipment and solid understanding of physical networking.
Responsibilities::
Assist with moving and staging network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, racks)
Rack and mount network hardware properly
Install and remove network cabling (copper and fiber)
Perform cable management and labeling
Assist with Layer 1 and basic Layer 2 validation (link status, port connectivity)
Support cutover activities under direction of network engineers
Maintain clean and organized network closets and racks
Follow change and safety procedures during migration
Required Skills & Experience::
Experience with network equipment installation and racking
Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling and patch panels
Understanding of LAN Layer 1 and Layer 2 concepts (ports, VLANs, link status)
Experience working in network closets or data centers
Ability to handle equipment carefully and professionally
Comfortable lifting and moving network gear (within safety limits)
Preferred Qualifications::
Prior data center or office migration experience
Familiarity with Cisco / Aruba network hardware
Experience with fiber cabling
Experience supporting live production environments
Physical Requirements::
Ability to walk between floors and offices
Lift and handle light equipment (Aruba switches, servers)
Work in tight spaces such as network closets
