SAP AI Validation Consultant (Finance / Order to Cash)
Contract | 3 to 6 months, possible extension | Remote, U.S. hours | Immediate start
Our client, a manufacturing company running SAP S/4HANA, has built its own generative AI platform on top of its SAP environment. It's already in production, used by the SAP team for deep analysis of how the system behaves. Now they're putting it to work on day-to-day support and opening it up to end users.
They need an SAP functional expert who understands AI well enough to sit between the business process and the AI team. You'll tell the AI and machine learning engineers what the platform is getting right, what it's getting wrong, and why, in terms of how SAP actually works.
This is not a developer, ML engineer or project manager role. It's for someone who knows the SAP process and data side cold and can be pointed at an objective and run with it.
What you'll work on
- Evaluate AI output on real support work. For example, review a run of 100 help desk tickets the platform researched and answered, and report what worked, what didn't, and what to change.
- Help shape an end-user assistant that walks users through SAP tasks and gathers the right details to open a help desk ticket when it can't solve the problem.
- Strengthen testing and validation of role-based access (RBAC) rules in the AI platform.
- Trace sensitive data, such as pricing, through the full SAP document flow: sales orders, deliveries, pick lists, IDocs and related tables. Make sure masking by persona holds everywhere the data appears, not just on the obvious screens.
- Translate SAP processes and table structures into clear guidance the AI and ML team can act on.
- Document findings, evidence and recommendations, and drive your own work forward without day-to-day direction.
What you bring
- Strong SAP functional experience in Finance (FI/CO), Order to Cash (SD), or both. Finance and reconciliation is the first priority.
- Working knowledge of SAP data structures and document flow: how a data point moves from sales order to delivery to billing to IDocs, and which tables hold it along the way.
- Hands-on experience using, testing or validating generative AI or enterprise AI assistants.
- Experience writing and running test plans, including access and authorization testing.
- A self-directed working style. You take an objective, figure out the steps, keep the right people informed, and come back with evidence.
- Clear written and verbal communication with both technical teams and SAP leadership.
Nice to have
- S/4HANA experience, including recent implementations or go-lives
- SAP Joule, SAP Business AI or similar enterprise AI assistant experience
- Make-to-stock manufacturing background
- Experience with help desk or ITSM processes
