Looking for a Senior MongoDB Solutions Architect responsible for the design, implementation, and management of large-scale, mission-critical database environments. Architectural planning and hands-on administrative excellence are required to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Core Responsibilities
Architectural Design: Lead the design of sharded clusters and replica sets to handle high-volume data and geographically distributed systems.
Performance Tuning: Optimize slow-running queries, manage complex indexing strategies, and tune the WiredTiger storage engine for peak efficiency.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement robust failover strategies, point-in-time recovery, and consistent backup/restore procedures.
Security Management: Enforce enterprise-grade security including SSL/TLS encryption, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and regular audits.
Automation: Develop Python or Bash scripts to automate routine maintenance, deployments, and health monitoring.
Cloud & Migration: Manage cloud-native deployments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and platforms like MongoDB Atlas, and lead version or cloud migrations.
Developer Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams on data modeling, schema design, and query optimization to ensure technical alignment.
Requirements & Skills
Experience: Typically requires 10 12+ years of experience in database administration, with at least 3 5 years focused specifically on MongoDB in production.
Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of MongoDB internals (sharding balancers, chunk migration, locking) and NoSQL modeling patterns.
Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation.
Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), or Microsoft Azure.
Tooling: Experience with MongoDB Ops Manager, Compass, and monitoring tools like Prometheus.
