Summary:
Empire State Mines is currently seeking a professional to fill the role of Mining Mechanical Engineer at its mine operation. Located within 2-hour drive of The Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario shoreline, the Adirondack Mountains and world class skiing at Lake Placid. Explore Canada with Montreal and Ottawa only 2-3 hours away.
Purpose and Scope:
Titan Mining Corporation is a Canadian-based mining company which owns the Empire State Mines, a group of 100%-owned high-grade zinc mines located in a historic mining district in St. Lawrence County, New York.
The company is focused on near-mine and district exploration as well as development of its Kilbourne Graphite Project.
The company is committed to operational excellence, prudent growth and sustainable development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Manager of Technical Services, the Mining Mechanical Engineer will have the following duties
and responsibilities:
Short, mid, and long-range planning for critical power, water, ventilation, compressed air, and drainage systems
for the operating mind;
Power Distribution: Manage high-voltage electrical networks, substations, and backup generators for surface
and underground equipment;
Water and Drainage: Design underground pumping networks to remove and recycle water from groundwater
and production sources;
Ventilation and Airflow: Oversee ventilation fans and networks to maintain appropriate airflow to working
headings. Complete monthly ventilation survey;
Compressed Air: Manage pipeline networks that deliver compressed air for pneumatic tools and drilling;
Working knowledge of MSHA regulations preferred, but training will be available;
Work collaboratively with all departments as needed;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies, Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to work in the United States;
Preferred five to seven years of experience in mining or other industrial environment;
Degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering preferred;
Experience with Deswik and/or Ventsim preferred;
Technical report writing skills required;
Strong written and verbal communication in English, critical thinking, and data analysis skills.
