Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced HP NonStop (Tandem) Developer to develop, maintain, and support highly available, fault-tolerant enterprise systems requiring continuous uptime. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with the HP NonStop environment, Guardian, TACL, Pathway, Enscribe, OSS, TAL/COBOL, and NonStop utilities, along with production support and disaster recovery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
< data-end="634" data-start="598" dir="auto">1. HP NonStop System Management
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade HP NonStop hardware and operating system components.
- Manage and support HP NonStop environments to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, resource utilization, and overall platform health.
< data-end="963" data-start="918" dir="auto">2. Application Development & Maintenance
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot applications running on HP NonStop/Tandem.
- Write and maintain low-maintenance code using TAL, COBOL, C, and C++.
- Design and update application specifications based on business and technical requirements.
- Work with Guardian, TACL, Pathway, Enscribe, and OSS environments.

- Work with SQL/MX and Enscribe databases.
- Utilize NonStop utilities including FUP, SCF, and TMF.
- Support transaction processing, data integrity, and system recovery activities.

- Provide production support and troubleshoot complex HP NonStop platform and application issues.
- Participate in 24/7 incident management and resolve critical production issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor application and system performance to identify potential issues proactively.

- Support backup, recovery, replication, and business continuity processes.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Ensure applications and infrastructure meet high-availability requirements.

- Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking within the HP NonStop environment.
- Work with Expand and secure file-transfer mechanisms.
- Support system-to-system communication and enterprise integrations.

Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in HP NonStop/Tandem development, administration, or production support.
- Strong hands-on experience with HP NonStop environments.
- Experience with Guardian, TACL, Pathway, Enscribe, and OSS.
- Strong programming experience with TAL and/or COBOL; C/C++ experience is desirable.
- Experience with Unix shell scripting and text-processing tools.
- Strong understanding of NonStop databases and utilities, including SQL/MX, FUP, SCF, and TMF.
- Experience supporting highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
