Overview

Our client is seeking a BIT (Built-In-Test) Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and verification of advanced sensor systems. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with systems, hardware, and software engineering teams to ensure system reliability, fault detection, and diagnostic capabilities throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience with RF sensor systems, system integration and testing, data analysis, and embedded software environments. This role will play a key part in developing and verifying Built-In-Test (BIT) functionality that enables high-performance mission systems to operate reliably in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of Built-In-Test (BIT) capabilities for advanced sensor systems.
  • Derive and manage BIT-related system requirements.
  • Design BIT architectures and fault detection/isolation strategies.
  • Verify BIT functionality and ensure error detection, correction, and compensation mechanisms operate as intended without impacting system performance.
  • Evaluate modeling, simulation, and analysis results to assess BIT effectiveness.
  • Develop a deep understanding of sensor hardware and system capabilities.
  • Lead efforts supporting software integration and development using C++ and Python.
  • Define and maintain requirements necessary to achieve system performance objectives.
  • Support verification of embedded BIT implementations.
  • Generate technical documentation and support Factory Test activities.
  • Participate in system integration, test, troubleshooting, and field support efforts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including systems, software, and hardware development organizations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another STEM-related discipline with 5+ years of experience, OR
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
  • PhD with 1+ year of experience.
    • An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Experience using MATLAB for data analysis and engineering evaluation.
  • Experience with RF sensor simulation environments.
  • Experience supporting integration and testing of Radar, SIGINT, or Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing C/C++ code.
  • Strong systems engineering, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another STEM-related discipline.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Experience with Built-In-Test (BIT) architecture development and fault management strategies.
  • Experience supporting embedded systems development and verification.
  • Familiarity with RF sensor architectures and signal processing concepts.
  • Experience leading technical teams or coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts.
