Sr. Director, Product Management, On Prem

The
Sr.
Director, Product Management, On Prem is responsible for defining and executing the product strategy, and roadmap for restaurants operation solutions. This leader will build software and financial products that will improve the efficiency of FOH to BOH experience, improving speed, accuracy and ease of use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for operational/on-prem workflows across POS, KDS, and operator-facing tools.

  • Partner with engineering, design, and hardware teams to ship features that work reliably in real, high-pressure, on-premises environments (not just in a demo).

  • Conduct regular in-field research spend time in actual stores/restaurants observing FOH and BOH workflows to identify friction points.

  • Translate operator pain points (slow ticket times, order errors, staff turnover-driven training gaps) into prioritized, sequenced product bets.

  • Define and track efficiency metrics with data/analytics teams; report on operational impact to leadership.

  • Manage a team of Product Managers covering sub-domains like ordering, kitchen ops, reporting etc make sure we are solutioning for entire workflows and not part of the challenge.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Support to understand merchant/operator escalations and translate them into roadmap input.

  • Work closely with hardware/device teams if the platform includes proprietary terminals, printers, or KDS screens.

  • Own the vision for how AI/automation can reduce manual steps in order-taking, ticket routing, or staff scheduling

What You Need to Have:

  • 10+ years in product management, with 5+ years in a people-management capacity, within restaurant tech, POS, or services domain.

  • Direct experience building products for restaurant, retail, or other physical/on-premises operational environments - POS, KDS, order management strongly preferred.

  • Track record of shipping products that measurably improved operational metrics (speed, accuracy, throughput, labor efficiency).

  • Deep understanding of FOH/BOH operations - you should be able to speak credibly to a restaurant GM or store manager about their daily workflow.

  • Familiarity with POS architecture, menu/catalog systems, order lifecycle, and payment flows.

  • Strong systems thinking - able to map multi-step, multi-role workflows (order ? kitchen ? payment ? close) and identify where to intervene.

  • Data-driven: comfortable defining and instrumenting operational KPIs, not just user satisfaction metrics.

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership - this role touches engineering, design, hardware, sales, and support.

  • Customer-obsessed - genuinely energized by going on-site and watching real operations happen.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hardware-constrained environments (terminals, printers, kitchen display screens) where latency and reliability are mission-critical.

  • Experience with AI-driven operational tooling (predictive prep times, smart routing, automated upsells).

  • Background that includes actual FOH/BOH work experience (server, line cook, retail floor) - genuinely useful for empathy and credibility with operators.
