Summary

Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

Department of Defense TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a systems engineer for the Optical Center of Excellence, you'll be a critical part of a cross-functional team responsible for development, integration, and test across our portfolio of terrestrial FSO development..

  • Proficient in utilizing Electrical/Optical Telecommunication test equipment to include Network Analyzers, Digital Communication Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), Optical Backscatter Reflectometer (OBR), Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSA), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), splicing, fiber handling and management.
  • Strong understanding of modern telecommunications fundamentals and operation
  • Full systems development lifecycle experience using both waterfall and Agile system development methods including Agile tools JIRA and Confluence
