Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst with strong Informatica ETL development experience to support the design, development, and optimization of ETL frameworks within a multi-terabyte Oracle Exadata environment. This role is focused on integrating public and private healthcare encounter and enrollment data from New York State healthcare plans and loading it into the NY All Payer Database (APD) reporting structures.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise with Informatica tools, strong Oracle PL/SQL skills, and hands-on experience working with healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop ETL workflows and mappings using Informatica PowerCenter.
- Load data into NY APD reporting structures while adhering to established Informatica development standards (no hard coding, reusable components, maplets, etc.).
- Build automation for manual operational activities.
- Optimize, troubleshoot, and debug ETL processes for performance and stability.
- Develop and execute unit and integration testing.
- Collaborate with data modelers and DBAs to tune ETL jobs for maximum performance.
- Conduct code walkthroughs and ensure compliance with development and security standards, including State of NY secure coding policies.
- Document and maintain operational procedures for ETL workflows.
- Troubleshoot pre-production and production ETL job issues.
- Use Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) for data profiling, validation, and data quality processing.
- Design and implement data validation processes using Informatica Data Quality.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years experience with Informatica PowerCenter.
- 5+ years experience with Oracle & PL/SQL, including strong coding and performance tuning.
- 2+ years experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, etc.).
- 2+ years experience in data analysis.
- Experience with data modeling techniques in data warehouse environments.
- 2+ years experience working with healthcare data (Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange, commercial payer).
- Strong understanding of data warehouse and database design principles.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Informatica Data Quality and Test Data Manager.
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of HIPAA regulatory security requirements.
- Experience with 834, 837, and NCPDP healthcare transactions.
- Familiarity with modern cloud and data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS.
- Advanced Oracle experience.
Project OverviewThis role supports the development of ETL components that process and integrate encounter and enrollment data from NYS healthcare plans. Using Informatica's product suite (PowerCenter, Test Data Manager, MDM, Metadata Manager, and IDQ), the developer will support auditing, cleansing, enriching, and loading data into Oracle-based APD reporting structures.
