Supporting 2,500+ global R&D, hardware, software, and AI engineers operating at extreme velocity, our organization requires an application and data ecosystem that connects specialized engineering toolchains directly to core enterprise business platforms. In this role, you will own Applications & Integrations, overseeing hardware/software development tools (PLM, CAD, license management), operational telemetry pipelines, business intelligence dashboards, and system integrations.

Reporting directly to the VP, HPS Product & Engineering IT you will lead a dedicated squad of application administrators, software managers, and BI specialists across North America. This position is tailored for an experienced technology leader who excels at streamlining complex developer workflows, automating data telemetry, and building seamless bridges between engineering tools and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Enterprise Applications Governance

  • Engineering Toolchain Management: Oversee the availability, licensing, and performance of critical hardware and software engineering application suites (PLM, CAD, compilation tools, and specialized developer software).

  • Enterprise System Integrations: Align and integrate division-level application toolchains with corporate enterprise systems (core ERP, CRM/Salesforce, and supply chain platforms) to ensure clean data flow and operational alignment.

  • SaaS & Software Lifecycle: Direct application lifecycle management, license optimization, vendor upgrades, and access controls for all engineering application suites across global design centers.

2. Operational Telemetry & Business Intelligence

  • Automated Data Telemetry: Architect and maintain automated telemetry pipelines to collect real-time operational metrics across build servers, lab infrastructure, and engineering workflows.

  • Executive Dashboards & Analytics: Lead the Business Intelligence function to deliver executive KPI dashboards, resource utilization metrics, and operational analytics for division leaders and the CIO.

  • Data Governance & Quality: Establish data quality standards and governance frameworks to ensure accurate telemetry reporting across all technical towers.

3. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead Application & Data Squads: Direct a specialized team of engineering application managers, application administrators, and BI specialists across North America.

  • Engineering Stakeholder Engagement: Partner directly with R&D, hardware, and software engineering leads to translate complex developer workflows into scalable application and data requirements.

  • FinOps & License Optimization: Partner with the IT PMO to monitor software licensing expenditure, optimize SaaS tool usage, and drive cost efficiencies across engineering application portfolios.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Leadership & Experience

  • Application & Data Leadership: 8+ years of progressive leadership managing enterprise applications, engineering software suites, or business intelligence teams in tech-driven organizations.

  • Engineering Ecosystem Exposure: Demonstrated experience supporting R&D, hardware, or software engineering teams utilizing complex product development toolchains.

  • Cross-Functional Execution: Proven track record bridging technical engineering application needs with enterprise corporate IT systems.

Technical Competencies

  • Engineering Software Toolchains: Familiarity with PLM/CAD suites (e.g., Windchill, SolidWorks, Agile) and developer tooling portfolios.

  • Business Intelligence & Data Pipelines: Hands-on experience with modern BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), data warehousing, and automated telemetry pipelines.

  • Enterprise Integrations: Understanding of API frameworks, enterprise system integrations (ERP/CRM like SAP or Salesforce), and SaaS vendor management.

Core Attributes

  • Data-Driven Problem Solver: Passionate about leveraging real-time data telemetry to solve operational bottlenecks and drive efficiency.

  • Developer Advocate: Focused on removing friction from engineering toolchains so developers can build and ship products at maximum speed.

Why Apply?

  • High-Impact Scope: Full ownership over the core application toolchains and telemetry systems powering 2,500+ world-class engineers.

  • Data & Platform Innovation: Build cutting-edge telemetry pipelines and modern data dashboards within a rapidly expanding business unit.

  • Executive Visibility: Key leadership position delivering high-visibility operational analytics directly to division executive leadership.
