Oracle Finance Systems Lead
Location: Charlotte, NC (4 days onsite, non-negotiable)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Financial Systems Lead to provide technical leadership and operational ownership of enterprise financial systems supporting the Finance organization. This role is accountable for day to day system stability, integrations, data flows, governance, and optimization of Oracle financial platforms while overseeing an outsourced support model
A core focus of this role is ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of Oracle Fusion ERP and EPM platforms (including EDM, EPBCS, EPMCS, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, etc.), serving as the technical subject matter expert across support operations and strategic initiatives. The role partners closely with the Accounting and FP&A teams to align Finance requirements with enterprise technology standards, system architecture, and long term roadmaps.
The role will also play an essential role in roadmap development, system governance, integration, configuration, trouble-shooting, upgrades, controls, reporting, and alignment of Finance requirements with Engineering & Technology (ET) teams.
Team Structure: Reports to Bill Safaric; manages a 4-person offshore team (likely India)
Key Responsibilities:
ERP Transformation & Strategy
- Lead the transition from PeopleSoft to Oracle, including implementation and optimization of Oracle Financial modules.
- Support the development and execution of the Oracle ERP and EPM strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with Finance and enterprise objectives.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to Finance leadership, Accounting, FP&A, and Technology partners.
Operations & Support
- Own day-to-day operational support of Oracle financial systems, including user access, security roles, configuration changes, and functional maintenance.
- Provide transparency into system health, work prioritization, and delivery progress.
- Support reporting, dashboards, and ongoing system enhancements.
Team & Vendor Management
- Oversee offshore and outsourced support teams, ensuring performance, accountability, and SLA adherence.
- Coordinate resources to ensure timely resolution of BAU activities and service tickets.
- Maintain vendor relationships, including Oracle and third-party providers, managing licensing, renewals, and support engagements.
Integrations & Data Management
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Oracle and third-party systems (e.g., Concur, Redi2 Revenue Manager, TPRM, CounselLink).
- Manage ETL processes and inter-module data flows across Oracle Fusion ERP and EPM environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data feed and reconciliation issues, driving corrective actions.
Release Management & System Reliability
- Partner with Engineering/Technology and Finance teams to plan, test, and deploy Oracle quarterly patches, upgrades, and releases.
- Oversee Development, Test, and Production environments to ensure system availability and data integrity.
- Manage backup, recovery, and data validation processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Enforce change management processes, documentation standards, and compliance with enterprise architecture policies.
- Review and monitor system access, security roles, and license usage to ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.
- Maintain runbooks and system documentation for ongoing operations and support.
Business Partnership & Enablement
- Partner with Accounting and FP&A to improve data availability, reporting accuracy, and analytical capabilities.
- Translate Finance business requirements into technical specifications.
- Support training, knowledge transfer, and adoption across Finance and Technology teams.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Head of Finance / Distribution / Marketing Systems.
- Collaborates closely with Engineering and Technology teams, including those based in Charlotte.
Requirements:
- Strong Oracle Finance/ERP experience (ERP preferred over EPM, but open)
- Experience supporting financial systems within a corporate Finance or IT environment.
- Hands-on technical expertise with Oracle financial applications, including Oracle Fusion ERP and Oracle EPM (EPBCS, EDM, and EPCM). Experience supporting Oracle Cloud upgrades, quarterly patches, integrations, and production environments.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, analytics solutions, and integrations with external reporting platforms.
- Some experience with PeopleSoft Financials, particularly in environments undergoing system transitions or integrations is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and how technology can optimize accounting, reporting, and analytics workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to work with business areas to implement continuous improvement projects, leveraging technology and updating processes drives efficiencies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Proven implementation + end-user experience
- Experience across multiple ERP environments
- Leadership experience (team lead or manager required)
- Offshore team management is a plus
- 5 10+ years of experience (flexible based on technical strength)
- Oracle certifications/accreditations preferred
- Nice-to-have: AP (Accounts Payable) and GL (General Ledger)
