Senior Mission Critical Construction Project Manager
Location: Ashburn, VA
Salary: $170,000–$215,000 base salary + long-term project stability
We are seeking a senior-level construction leader with strong experience overseeing large-scale mechanical and electrical coordination within highly technical construction environments. This role is heavily focused on execution, quality, commissioning coordination, and operational readiness across complex infrastructure systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being deeply involved in field execution while partnering closely with engineering, operations, commissioning, and project leadership teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role will serve as a key technical construction leader focused on MEP coordination, commissioning execution, quality management, and operational integration.
Responsibilities include:

Lead coordination and execution efforts across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls systems.

Drive collaboration between field teams, subcontractors, engineers, commissioning teams, and operations stakeholders.

Oversee MEP installation quality, system integration, and schedule alignment.

Support technical reviews, including shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and coordination models.

Participate in BIM coordination and clash resolution workflows.

Manage equipment delivery coordination, turnover planning, and commissioning readiness.

Support commissioning execution, issue tracking, and operational turnover processes.

Conduct field walkthroughs to verify installation quality and adherence to project standards.

Assist with change management, schedule updates, and construction planning efforts.

Help drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned across the project lifecycle.

Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and resolve field execution challenges.
Required Experience

8+ years of experience supporting complex MEP construction projects, including proven experience supporting hyperscale data center projects.

Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems.

Experience coordinating across multiple trades within large-scale construction environments.

Ability to manage technical project documentation, coordination efforts, and execution workflows.

Strong communication and leadership capabilities in fast-paced project environments.

Experience supporting commissioning, startup, or turnover activities.
Preferred Experience

Experience with BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks, BIM 360, Revit, or AutoCAD.

Experience working with commissioning teams and operational turnover processes.

Exposure to controls systems, automation, and integrated building systems.

Experience supporting hyperscale or highly technical infrastructure programs.
