Job Description:

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Telecom OSS Support Engineer with strong domain expertise and hands-on experience in Blue Planet Inventory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting network and service inventory systems in a production environment. This role requires a deep understanding of telecom networks, inventory management, and the ability to resolve complex issues impacting service provisioning and operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 production support for telecom OSS applications, primarily Blue Planet Inventory
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network and service inventory data
  • Analyze and fix data inconsistencies between inventory systems and network elements
  • Investigate service provisioning failures and identify root causes
  • Monitor application performance and ensure high availability of OSS systems
  • Work closely with network operations, engineering, and integration teams
  • Analyze logs, system errors, and integration failures to resolve incidents
  • Perform data validation and corrections in inventory systems as required
  • Support system integrations and APIs between OSS/BSS platforms
  • Document issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures
  • Participate in incident management, RCA, and continuous improvement initiatives

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong telecom domain knowledge (OSS/BSS)
  • Hands-on experience with Blue Planet Inventory
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Network inventory and service inventory models
    • Telecom network elements (routers, switches, circuits, fiber)
    • Service provisioning and lifecycle management
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in production environments
  • Experience in analyzing system logs and resolving data/integration issues
  • Basic knowledge of APIs and system integrations
  • Good understanding of database concepts and ability to perform data analysis

 

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
  • Exposure to telecom OSS tools and platforms
  • Basic scripting or query knowledge (SQL preferred)
