The Aerosafety Division (DASY) develops a wide range of inflatable systems (evacuation slides, helicopter emergency flotation systems, life rafts, and life vests) for commercial and military aircraft, as well as oxygen systems for pilots and passengers.
You will join the Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV), part of the DASY Division, a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of evacuation slides, life rafts, and life vests for aircraft, as well as flotation systems for helicopters.
Your main missions will be to provides management oversight for the Machine Shop, Video/Data techs, and Model Shop in our Wall Township, NJ location. The machine shop, Video/Data techs, and the Model Shop supervisor report to the Engineering Test Services Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Ensures adequate video, data, and machine shop and model shop equipment is available to meet the needs of the company.
2. Responsible for enforcing the safety policy.
3. Assists Model Shop Supervisor with development of manpower and budget needs.
4. Provides budget inputs.
5. Schedules and prioritizes work to be completed in the Machine shop.
6. Assists Model Shop Supervisor as needed to prioritize work to be completed in the Model Shop.
7. Responsible for implementing personnel procedures and assuring those procedures are adhered to.
8. Responsible for maintaining all capital equipment utilized by the Machine Shop.
9. Delegates appropriate tasks to subordinates.
10. Creates "Can-do" atmosphere and encourages subordinates to find creative ways to support Engineering and company needs.
11. Responsible for employee personnel issues including disciplinary actions and supporting the hiring of new employees.
12. Obtain inputs from Engineering and Manufacturing sources and review long term schedule demands to make sure necessary resources are in place when required.
13. Must be willing to work in non-climate controlled areas such as the test center and ditching pool.
14. May be asked to assist with engineering tasks for certain projects at the direction of the VP of Engineering.
15. Some very limited travel may be required to visit suppliers, customers, and other Safran facilities.
16. Other duties as assigned.

Candidate skills & requirements
- Must have minimum of Four years of work experience in an engineering capacity in addition to a minimum of three years experience supervising subordinate personnel.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to successfully interact with employees at all levels of the company as well as with suppliers and customers.
