Sr. Full Stack Developer (Microservices)Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced
Sr. Full Stack Developer (Microservices) to join an enterprise engineering team supporting critical applications within the Markets organization. This role will focus on designing, developing, and enhancing a next-generation platform supporting
risk and P&L functions for execution services.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience building
enterprise-level applications using Java, Python, microservices, and SQL, with the ability to contribute across both backend and frontend development. This position offers the opportunity to work on a strategic platform modernization initiative alongside experienced engineers, technical leaders, and business stakeholders.
What You'll Do- Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications within a microservices architecture
- Build scalable backend services using Java and/or Python
- Develop application components, APIs, and integrations supporting business-critical workflows
- Contribute to frontend development using modern frameworks including React, Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Collaborate with technical leads, product partners, and business stakeholders on requirements, design, and implementation
- Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives
- Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) practices including unit testing, integration testing, and maintaining code quality standards
- Contribute to source control, code reviews, development standards, and enterprise engineering practices
- Design and support applications requiring high performance, scalability, and real-time processing capabilities
Required Qualifications- Strong experience developing enterprise-level applications
- Advanced programming experience with Java or Python as a primary development language
- Experience building and supporting microservices-based applications
- Strong SQL experience, including Microsoft SQL Server
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, application architecture, and service interactions
- Experience with RESTful services and modern software development practices
- Experience using Git-based source control and collaborative development workflows
- Experience implementing automated testing and Test Driven Development practices
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to solve complex technical challenges
Preferred Qualifications- Full-stack development experience with:
- React
- Angular
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Experience within financial services, fintech, trading, or other highly regulated enterprise environments
- Experience with caching technologies such as Hazelcast
- Experience with messaging technologies such as:
- Kafka
- MQ
- Enterprise message bus platforms
- Understanding of frontend state management concepts and frameworks such as Redux or Context
- Experience developing low-latency, real-time applications
AI-Assisted Development ExperienceOur engineering teams leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve developer productivity. Candidates should be comfortable incorporating AI tools into their development workflow, including:
- Writing effective prompts for AI coding assistants
- Reviewing and enhancing AI-generated code
- Applying strong engineering judgment when leveraging AI-generated solutions
- Understanding application architecture and making appropriate technical decisions
Professional AI development experience is not required, but candidates should be comfortable adopting emerging development practices.
