Summary

The Fundamental Physics Directorate AI/ML Coordination Department at SLAC is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral Research Associate to work on AI for particle/nuclear physics.

The initial term of this position is one year, with the possibility of extension up to five years upon annual review.

Qualifications

This position requires a PhD in experimental particle physics, nuclear physics, or a related field at the time of appointment. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated record of excellence in research, and experience with one or more of the following:
  • Monte Carlo simulation of particle detectors
  • Training AI tools for particle data
  • Data analysis in particle or nuclear physics
