Our client seeks a Sr. Senior Platform Engineer III to design and operate Kubernetes platforms for mission-critical federal workloads. The role spans CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and platform reliability, performance, and security. The engineer will work within an Agile delivery model and communicate status and risks to stakeholders while resolving complex production issues.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Salary: $210,000 - $285,000/ yr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a collaborative and high-performing team delivering technical solutions within the highest levels of the federal government.
  • Design and operate Kubernetes and container platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
  • Participate in Agile execution, planning, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in complex environments.
  • Communicate platform status, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence through technical expertise and professionalism.
  • Use creativity and engineering judgment to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Experience Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator and Terraform Associate certifications.
  • DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 451 System Administrator work role such as Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP.
  • 6+ years of systems or DevOps engineering experience, including 3+ years with Kubernetes and container technologies.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining Kubernetes or OpenShift container orchestration platforms.
  • Hands-on experience ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of containerized environments in enterprise or mission-critical settings.
  • Operational experience managing CI/CD pipelines, container build processes, and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience deploying, managing, and operating container runtimes, orchestration tooling, and supporting services.
  • Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tooling including Rancher, Helm, Docker, Cilium, Rook, Ceph, MinIO, S3, and PortWorx.
  • Experience leading or assisting in design and implementation of complex integrated container platforms.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in an operational environment.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
  • Terraform Associate.
  • DoD 8140-aligned certification such as Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP.
