Compensation and Schedule

• Performance bonus: $5,000 annual target bonus; eligibility and payout terms apply.
• Night shift: Tuesday Friday, 5:00 p.m. 3:30 a.m.
• Weekend requirement: One working Saturday every 12 weeks.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to lead night-shift clinical chemistry operations supporting kidney care. This role combines staff supervision, laboratory workflow management, quality assurance, and hands-on Medical Technologist bench coverage.

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the supervisor will oversee testing operations from specimen processing through results reporting, ensuring accurate results, timely service, and compliance with laboratory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise nightly laboratory operations, assign responsibilities, and maintain appropriate staffing and coverage.
• Monitor specimen quality, testing workflows, turnaround times, and service commitments.
• Perform bench testing and provide technical troubleshooting support as needed.
• Train, coach, and develop laboratory staff; oversee competency assessments and performance evaluations.
• Support hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, timecard reviews, and time-off approvals.
• Develop, review, and implement laboratory SOPs, training materials, and quality assurance procedures.
• Maintain compliance with CAP requirements, applicable state requirements, safety policies, and internal standards.
• Investigate operational and quality issues, document incidents, and support corrective actions.
• Identify process improvements that strengthen efficiency, testing quality, and coordination across laboratory departments.
• Protect patient information and maintain confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist and/or Laboratory Supervisor.
• Active Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license covering both Clinical Chemistry and Serology.
• Professional laboratory certification through ASCP, AAB, or AMT, as identified in the posting.
• Experience in renal laboratory testing, clinical chemistry supervision, and reference laboratory operations.
• Demonstrated laboratory leadership, including staff development, workload management, and competency evaluations.
• Strong hands-on Medical Technologist bench experience.
• Experience with CAP survey compliance, laboratory quality improvement, and SOP development.
• Ability to work the required onsite night schedule and periodic Saturday assignment.
