Description
We are looking for an experienced SAP Security Manager to join a growing team in a contract-to-permanent role. This position is ideal for a hands-on security specialist who can balance technical execution with clear communication while overseeing work across several concurrent accounts. The right candidate will bring practical expertise in SAP security design, role optimization, and segregation of duties, serving as a trusted subject matter expert within a collaborative internal team.
Responsibilities:
Lead SAP security administration activities with a strong focus on access design, role maintenance, and authorization governance.
Review and refine security roles by identifying unnecessary access, improving role structure, and supporting effective permission management.
Apply segregation of duties principles to evaluate access models and help shape secure, compliant role designs.
Distinguish between display and update access requirements to ensure users receive appropriate levels of authorization.
Coordinate priorities across multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining accurate status updates, task tracking, and organized follow-through.
Partner with internal stakeholders and team members to provide guidance on SAP security best practices and design decisions.
Support security-related project work, including delegated tasks, remediation efforts, and role cleanup initiatives.
Serve as a hands-on expert who can translate security requirements into practical solutions rather than focusing solely on audit observations.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in SAP security, administration, or a closely related enterprise security role.
Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, updating, and cleaning up SAP roles and authorizations.
Strong understanding of segregation of duties concepts and the ability to apply rulesets in real-world security design.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and stay organized while supporting several accounts or workstreams at once.
Effective communication skills with the ability to provide clear status reporting and collaborate across teams.
Background in cyber security, application security, enterprise security, or related security disciplines.
Familiarity with broader security technologies and practices, including SIEM or network security, is a plus.
