Role: Application Security Specialist - ASX and SecDesign

Location: Iselin NJ / Charlotte NC

Fulltime Permanent role

Functional Area: ASX and SecDesign

Role Summary:

Embed security-by-design via ASX patterns and secure design reviews.
Streamline and automate prescription/validation of NFRs.
Collaborate with engineering to reduce friction and improve control coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and maintain secure design blueprints and reference implementations.
Align ASX patterns with tiered control framework; ensure adherence across applications.
Automate NFR generation and validation in pipelines; track exceptions and risk.
Participate in architecture reviews; propose mitigations and compensating controls.
Contribute to dashboards on control coverage and remediation timelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering.
4+ years in secure architecture/design or AppSec engineering.
Knowledge of common design patterns, encryption, identity, and secrets management.
Experience integrating controls in microservices and cloud-native architectures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with policy-as-code and admission controls.
Certifications: CSSLP, AWS/Azure Security, or equivalent.
Background in developer experience (DevEx) and guardrail design.

Tools & Technologies:

Design repositories (Git, Confluence)
Policy-as-code (OPA/Gatekeeper)
CI/CD and testing frameworks
Secrets and KMS (Vault, AWS KMS)
