Sr Database Admin

Location: Atlanta, Georgia (On-site)

Role Overview

This position is for a Senior Open Source Database Administrator. The role involves the support, administration, and optimization of open-source database platforms within a hybrid AWS environment. The successful candidate will contribute to database operations, cloud database management, automation, and performance tuning for enterprise-scale infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform administration of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and Aurora databases.
• Conduct database performance tuning, troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance.
• Manage replication, backup, and recovery processes.
• Handle AWS database administration tasks.
• Utilize Terraform and Ansible for automation.
• Participate in monitoring, incident response, and on-call support rotation.
• Contribute to cost optimization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 7+ years of database administration experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.

Technical Skills: Strong experience with Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL and/or MySQL) and AWS database services, including RDS, EC2, and Redshift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Terraform and Ansible for automation.
• Knowledge of replication and high-availability strategies, such as AWS DMS or Tungsten Replicator.
• Experience with AWS database cost optimization.
• AWS certifications are beneficial.
