Controller

POSITION SUMMARY:

• The Controller is responsible for overseeing the full accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting functions for all Woodward Video companies.
• This role manages daily financial operations, ensures compliance with government reporting and licensing requirements, supports payroll and tax functions, and contributes to operational efficiency through organization, leadership, and technology improvement.
• The Controller works closely with ownership and management to support the financial health and growth of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting activities for all Woodward Video companies
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting and consumer sales reporting
  • Process payroll for all company entities
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Manage POS system reporting and prepare Profit & Loss statements
  • Track and reconcile store deposits
  • Prepare and file required tax forms including 1095, 1094, and 1099 forms
  • Coordinate and communicate with external accountants as needed
• Licensing & Tax Compliance
  • Assist with lottery, health, and liquor licensing requirements
  • Manage property tax and real estate tax filings
  • Prepare financial estimates and support forecasting needs
• Office & Operations Support
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional office environment
  • Participate in hiring and termination of office staff when needed
  • Support company growth by identifying and implementing new technology and process improvements
• Company Leadership & Representation
  • Demonstrate strong professionalism and prioritize people-first leadership
  • Continuously seek learning opportunities and skill development
  • Take on new responsibilities and challenges as business needs evolve
  • Represent Woodward Video positively within the community
  • Communicate proactively with leadership if responsibilities become unclear or stagnant

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong experience in bookkeeping and accounting operations
• QuickBooks Online Experience
• Payroll processing experience
• Knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax documentation
• Proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial and company information
