Job Description:
This position will be responsible, but not limited to, the following:
Research and Design:
Perform business analysis and produce project requirements
Develop technical and application architectures
Design front-end and server-side components
Perform data modeling and coordinate with the database engineers
Coordinate with front-end developers to ensure high-performance
user experience
Development:
Front-end and Server-side components of the web applications
Restful APIs / Relational database access
Develop data access middleware
Query and manipulate geospatial data
Structure, organize and integrate code
Integration with 3rd party libraries and in-house libraries
Programming to manipulate geospatial data
Collaborate with front-end and database developers
Develop and execute unit and integration testing
Code Review and Technical Project Management
Version control and automated builds (CI) in GIT
Maintain versioning of project dependencies
Review project code
Manage releases
Integrate changing best practices standards into existing and
upcoming projects
Additional Duties:
Work in close coordination with the Principal Investigator to
understand the expanding needs of our users and stakeholders
Conduct research for innovative tools and technologies
Assist in preparation of documentation and presentations as needed
Other Duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field and five years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Developing web applications using C#, F#, .NET, TypeScript, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, SQL, Python, and related technologies.
Designing and implementing scalable software architectures for modern web-based applications.
Developing full-stack software solutions, including server-side components, RESTful APIs, middleware services, and responsive user interfaces.
Experience developing and deploying Python applications in Linux environments, including configuration of software libraries, package dependencies, and runtime environments for open source and for ESRI geospatial, scientific computing, or artificial intelligence applications.
Designing and implementing data transformation, migration, integration, and standardization processes for complex data models.
Developing software that implements or integrates structured data standards and specifications.
Developing applications that generate, process, or transform structured data using rule-based or artificial intelligence techniques.
Designing and implementing interactive web applications, including rich editing environments, drag-and-drop interfaces, workflow-based user experiences, and advanced data validation.
Developing software that manages complex event sequences, state transitions, or business workflows.
Working with relational databases, spatial databases, and geospatial data processing technologies.
Developing mapping, business intelligence, data visualization, or analytical web applications.
Knowledge or exposure to interactive visualization, graphics, simulation, or animation applications using modern graphics frameworks, visualization libraries, or game engines.
Experience developing interactive editing environments involving graphical objects, spatial features, event sequencing, timelines, or drag-and-drop user interactions.
Applying software engineering best practices, including Git, automated builds, continuous integration, automated testing, code reviews, and release management.
Designing secure, scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software systems.
Experience developing software for transportation information systems, transportation safety applications, geospatial information systems (GIS), public safety systems, or other operational information systems, with preferred transportation-related experience.
Ability to analyze complex technical problems, synthesize requirements, research innovative solutions, and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary development teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while maintaining high standards of software quality and documentation
