Position: Contract on W2

Description:

  • Amtrak is seeking a Solution Architect – Customer Experience to design scalable, enterprise-grade solutions across Customer Experience, Loyalty, Marketing, CRM, and Digital platforms.
  • The ideal candidate will translate business requirements into end-to-end architecture while collaborating with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture teams.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Layered Architecture, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and REST API design (versioning, error handling, integration).
  • Experience designing end-to-end customer experience solutions on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Containers, Serverless, VPC, Security Groups).
  • Strong understanding of Customer Data Platforms (CDP), data modeling, customer data, and API/integration architecture.
  • Experience with Loyalty Programs (Points, Rewards, Tiers, Accrual/Redemption, Member Profiles, Partner Integrations, Earn/Burn Transactions) and Marketing Technologies (Campaign Management, Customer Segmentation, Personalization, Omnichannel Engagement, CRM, Identity Resolution, Consent & Preference Management).
  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise Integration, including REST APIs, Kafka/Event Streaming, Batch vs. Real-Time Processing, ETL concepts, and data flow architecture.
  • Solid understanding of Enterprise Architecture & Governance, including TOGAF concepts, Architecture Reviews, Non-Functional Requirements (Scalability, Availability, Performance, Security), and compliance with PII, GDPR, and CCPA.
  • Broad technical knowledge across Frontend (React/Mobile), Backend APIs & Microservices, Relational & NoSQL Databases, Salesforce CRM, Adobe/Braze or similar Martech platforms.
  • Ability to evaluate solution options, identify trade-offs, design scalable integrations, and communicate technical solutions to business stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Travel, Transportation, Airline, Railroad, or Hospitality domains.
  • Knowledge of Booking Lifecycle (Search, Offer, Order, Fulfillment), Reservation Systems, Passenger Service Systems (PSS), Frequent Traveler/Loyalty Programs, and modern Offer/Order architecture.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Design end-to-end customer experience and loyalty solutions.
  • Create solution architecture, data flow, and integration diagrams.
  • Define high-level APIs and interface designs.
  • Work with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver scalable, secure, and enterprise-compliant solutions.
  • Produce architecture documentation, NFRs, and solution option analysis with technical recommendations.
