Mainframe Automation Consultant

AF Operator to IBM z System Automation (IBM zSA) Migration Services

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Automation Consultant to lead the migration from AF Operator (CA OPS/MVS AF Operator) to IBM z System Automation (IBM zSA/IBM System Automation for z/OS). The consultant will be responsible for assessing the existing automation environment, designing the migration strategy, converting automation rules and procedures, implementing IBM zSA, and ensuring a seamless transition with minimal impact to production operations. 

Required Skills: 

•     Strong experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS (IBM zSA/IzSA) 

•     Experience migrating from AF Operator or other mainframe automation tools  

•     z/OS Systems Programming and Operations  

•     Automation Policy Database (APDB)  

•     REXX, NetView, Automation Tables  

•     GDPS/SA integration (preferred)  

•     Mainframe Operations and High Availability  

•     Troubleshooting and performance tuning  

•     Documentation and knowledge transfer  

Responsibilities: 

•     Assess the current AF Operator environment.  

•     Develop a migration strategy and implementation plan.  

•     Convert automation rules, scripts, and policies to IBM zSA.  

•     Configure and deploy IBM zSA.  

•     Perform testing, validation, and production cutover.  

•     Provide post-implementation support and documentation.  

•     Train operations and support teams.  

This requirement is ideal for senior Mainframe Automation Engineers with proven experience in AF Operator to IBM z System Automation (IBM zSA) migrations.
