Job Description ECS is seeking a
Senior Network Engineer to work in our
Washington, DC office.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. As a Senior Network Engineer supporting the Department of Justice, you will play a critical role in designing, securing, and sustaining complex enterprise and classified network environments. This position leads the planning and architecture of DOJ network infrastructures, oversees enterprise-wide addressing and traffic management, and ensures the reliability of mission-critical systems such as JUTNet. You will maintain a fully functional lab environment for testing and validation, drive proactive monitoring and incident response efforts, and collaborate closely with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and security compliance teams to uphold the performance, resilience, and security of DOJ networks.
Key Responsibilities: Network Planning & Architecture: Plan, configure, document, and manage all network devices and topologies, including the design and development of architectural models for classified networks
Network Address & Traffic Management: Manage network address space and traffic routing schemes across the enterprise environment
Network Support: Analyze and support NCS computer and communication networks as they relate to the Justice Unified Telecommunications Network (JUTNet), and coordinate support services with the Network Support Center at the Justice Data Center
Lab Environment Management: Maintain a lab network as a near replica of the production network for testing, validation, and development purposes
Monitoring & Incident Response: Develop, maintain, monitor, and support all network and system alerts. Respond to network and systems alerts, providing support, remediation, and reporting on all notifications
Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineers, Cybersecurity Engineers, SIEM Engineers, and Information Systems Security Officers to ensure network security, performance, and availability.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,000

Required Skills - Must have an active Top-Secret clearance (TS/SCI is preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- This is 100% onsite
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in network engineering, including hands-on experience with enterprise-level network design, implementation, and management.
- Specific work experience in providing IT program support for the Federal Government is required
- Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) - preferred
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+
- ITIL Foundation or higher
- Expert-level knowledge of network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Knowledge of classified network architectures and federal security requirements
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN, SD-WAN, and wireless technologies
- Familiarity with virtualized network environments (VMware NSX, etc.)
- Experience with network automation and scripting
Desired Skills - TS/SCI clearance
- CCIE or higher certification
